Last week I was at SAP Belgium for the training “SAP Business Objects Data Services XI 3.0/3.1“. After the 3-days course I wanted to run some exercises on my own laptop at home. I downloaded the SAP BO Data Services XI 3.2 installation package from the SAP Service Market Place and developed a installation scenario (see image) for myself and started the installation..

After the installation of MySQL, MySQL-Front, MySQL ODBC-connector and SAP BO DataServices I created a project in BO Data Services. Everything seemed to work, but executing a job, it failed due to the ODBC-connector which is not suitable for this environment. So I searched the Internet and I couldn’t find any solution. On many blogs I found the text: “BO Data Services will not work in combination of Windows 7 and 64-bit system“. I started a new challenge by un-installing and re-installing SAP BO Data Services XI 3.2 on my own laptop and after many attempts I succeeded!
